Johnson Residence,
Redwood Shores, CA
One of the most exciting homes that Design Studio has remodeled, the owners love to entertain, so they wanted their home to radiate their way of living. Design Studio remodeled and enlarged the kitchen with maple cabinetry, and granite counter tops. Design Studio opened the kitchen to a great room area with raised beam ceilings and a stone-facade fireplace for a cozy feeling.
We took a four-bedroom, two-bath home and converted it into a three bedroom, two bath dwelling; one of the pre-existing bedrooms was turned into a walk-in closet and enlarged an existing bathroom to accommodate an oversized shower, Jacuzzi tub and vanity. In addition to that, we added a very eclectic second story with beamed, tin, and vaulted ceilings throughout and hardwood floors.
Design Studio took into account that the owner was a retired Coast Guard and created a marine-themed bathroom with military paraphernalia such as portholes. Complete with a fireplace, billiard table, shuffle board, and a bar with a juke box – this upstairs addition is the perfect platform for any host that loves to entertain.
